Product Details

Our luxuriously soft blankets are available in two different sizes and feature incredible artwork on the top surface. The bottom surface is white. Our 100% polyester blankets are available in two different styles: plush fleece and sherpa fleece. Plush fleece blankets are soft and fluffy on both sides, whereas sherpa blankets are smooth like a soft sweater on the artwork side (i.e. shorter threads) which provides for a sharper image. Looking for a recommendation? Go with a 60" x 80" plush fleece blanket. It's soft and luxurious on both sides... the artwork looks incredible... and the size is just right for everyone.

Artist's Description

Victor Molev (Canada) 'Schooner "Labukh" 2017 56x71 cm Oil on canvas
Here is the last (for now) work from the “Sea Series” of the Canadian artist-storyteller. “Labukh” - in the slang of Soviet musicians means “Performing musician.” And now the schooner “Labukh” flies through the waves, full of labukhs and plays its bravura music, drowning out the howl of the wind and the roar of the raging storm! The soulful Figurehead complements the orchestra with his harp. And the piano leg has acquired fingers and leads its claw along the heaving surface of the sea wave. This claw trick has been used several times in cinema, so why not use it in painting!? And the viewer should hear for himself what kind of music flows from the canvas!

About Victor Molev

Victor Molev

Victor Molev Victor Molev is a Canadian artist of Russian descent, working in the styles of Decorative Realism, Fantasy, Symbolism and Surrealism. Molev was born in the year 1955 in Gorky (present day Nizhny Novgorod), Russia. From an early age, he has shown interest in the visual arts and dedicated his time to creativity. As the artist himself jokes, his love for art derived from the fact that his grandmother was kissed by Marc Chagall in her childhood. She was his younger sister’s classmate, and often visited the Chagall household. In paintings from his childhood and early youth, Molev showed an inclination towards unconventional compositions that were free of the Soviet canons of “Socialist Realism”. In the mid-1970s, as an...
